The Problem:

The clients growing family was outgrowing their two bedroom Queenslander, so the came to us looking to add a couple of bedrooms, a second bathroom and a laundry.

Our Urban Solution:

The existing house was well located on a large block and already had a large rear deck with good access to the yard. With plans for a pool in the future, and space at the side of the house, we convinced the client to extend at the side, rather than going down the common path of raising and building in underneath. The addition was designed to enhance the front elevation, with a small balcony leading off the existing front porch. With a young family, the single level living was perfect, and the connection to the rear yard was maintained.
