The challenge was to relocate a run-down (but well proportioned) Queenslander from a development site in Indooroopilly to a vacant site in Sherwood and transform it into a spacious family home. The sloping site offered the potential to capture views to the Brisbane River and the client was passionate about restoring the original dwelling to its former glory.
Our Urban Solution:
The relocated house was positioned towards the front of the site with car accommodation cut into the slope below. A new, two storey addition was stepped back towards the rear on the highest section of the site, allowing the upper level master bedroom to take advantage of the views over adjacent parkland to the river.
